WASHINGTON, DC – Today, U.S. Sen. Cory Booker issued the following statement after the D.C. Circuit Court rejected calls for a delay of the Federal Communication Commission’s implementation of net neutrality rules:
“I’m thrilled the FCC will be able to move forward in implementing robust net neutrality rules that protect consumers and maintain an even playing field online,” said Sen. Booker. “Recognizing the transformative power of open online access, I will continue to advocate for communications policies that promote innovation, economic empowerment, and equality.”
The FCC’s net neutrality rules will go into effect June 12, 2015. Sen. Booker has been a vocal advocate for net neutrality protections.
In February, Sen. Booker joined Sens. Edward J. Markey, D-Mass., Al Franken D-Minn., and Bernie Sanders I-Vt., to praise the Federal Communications Commission’s (FCC) net neutrality proposal. Sen. Booker’s complete remarks can be viewed here.
