Internship Applications
Our office offers a limited number of fall, spring, and summer internships for high schoolers, undergraduates, and recent graduates from undergraduate institutions. Internships are in Senator Booker’s Washington, D.C., Newark, New Jersey, and Camden, New Jersey offices and provide an excellent way to learn first-hand how Congress works.
The portal for the Summer 2026 Session is now open. Applications will be accepted until Friday, April 10th at 11:59PM.
*Our office does not participate in the Senate Page Program.
Internship application deadlines are as follows:
- Summer 2026 Session: Friday, April 10th, 2026 at 11:59PM
- Fall 2026 Session: Summer 2026 *Check back for specific date
- Spring 2027 Session: Fall 2026 *Check back for specfici date
Our office provides internships to high school students, current undergraduate students, and recent college graduates. Information on internship sessions and eligibility can be found below.
- The Summer Internship Program for undergraduates and recent graduates from undergraduate institutions is broken into two sessions:
- Session one runs from Tuesday, May 19 to Thursday, June 26 (Only offered in Newark and Camden offices)
- Session two runs from Tuesday, June 30 to Friday, August 7 (Offered in DC, Newark, and Camden offices)
- The Fall Internship program runs from September to mid-December
- The Spring Internship program runs from January to mid-May.
Internship information for current high school students:
- The Summer High School Accelerated Session will be 14 consecutive business days in August, and is the only program offered to applicants in High School.
- This Session will run from Tuesday, August 11 to Friday, August 28.
Internship responsibilities:
Interns in our Camden and Newark office assist our state team with a broad range of constituent-focused tasks. In addition to general office duties, such as answering phones and processing incoming mail and email, interns will also accompany staff to local community events, draft memos for various events, track constituent opinions on certain issues, and conduct research.
Interns in our Washington D.C. office will also do general administrative tasks, such as answering phones and processing incoming mail and email. D.C.-based interns also attend committee hearings and legislative briefings, provide tours of the U.S. Capitol for visiting New Jerseyans, draft memos and letters on specific policy items, and conduct research.
You will be asked to create a profile. Please also note that we are unable to offer an internship to all applicants. Preference will be given to New Jersey residents.
