WASHINGTON – U.S. Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ) today released the following statement after the Senate failed to pass the Protect Women’s Health from Corporate Interference Act, also known as the Not My Boss’s Business Act:
“Today Senate Republicans put the interests of corporations ahead of the rights of women and the welfare of families. A woman’s family planning decisions should stay between her and her doctor – not her and her boss. This vote has consequences; for low-wage workers, the expense of birth control is a real and substantive burden. No woman in America should be forced to choose between buying contraception and putting food on the table for her family. I am determined to continue this fight in the Senate and find solutions to protect and strengthen women’s constitutional and economic rights.”
