WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Senator Cory Booker (D-NJ) released a new COVID-19 pandemic resource guide with information about the federal benefits available to New Jerseyans through the American Rescue Plan. The guide can be downloaded at booker.senate.gov/coronavirus.

Booker said, “As we face economic and public crises unlike anything we have seen in our lifetimes, the American Rescue Plan is an urgently needed and historic investment that will help New Jerseyans and millions of people across the country.

“This landmark legislation will issue another round of direct cash payments to families in need, extend critically needed pandemic unemployment assistance, extend protections for renters and homeowners, dedicate resources to safely re-opening our schools and supporting our teachers, allocates urgently needed resources for vaccine distribution, testing and tracing, and expand affordable health care coverage to nursing home residents. Additionally, it secures state and local funding needed to support our first responders, educators, essential workers, and critical programs, additional support for small businesses, and debt forgiveness for farmers of color who have been among those hardest hit by the economic crisis. Specifically, the expansions of the Child Tax Credit and Earned Income Tax Credit in the American Rescue Plan will be transformative for New Jerseyans, benefitting 1,608,000 New Jersey kids and their families and putting more money in the pockets of 354,000 New Jersey workers.

“We’re making a comprehensive guide to the American Rescue Plan and other resources that can help New Jerseyans in need available on my website, booker.senate.gov. I encourage New Jerseyans to familiarize themselves with the resources available to them and to contact my office directly if they require assistance.”
