Washington, DC – U.S. Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ) today announced the hiring of longtime political journalist Beth DeFalco as his Communications Director, overseeing his D.C. and New Jersey offices.

DeFalco, 37, is an award-winning reporter who has covered breaking news and politics for 15 years across four states. She has worked for publications including The Associated Press, The Denver Post, The Arizona Republic and most recently for the New York Post covering City Hall.

She began covering New Jersey politics in 2006, the year Cory Booker was first elected mayor of Newark.

“I am pleased that Beth has decided to bring her New Jersey experience and talent to our team and look forward to working with her,” Booker said.

DeFalco is a graduate of the University at Colorado at Boulder. She joins Press Secretary Monique Waters, in D.C., and State Press Secretary Silvia Alvarez, in Newark.
