Today, U.S. Sen. Cory Booker issued the following statement after the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit upheld rules issued by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) designed to preserve a free and open Internet:

“Today marks a major victory for consumers and innovators in the United States,” said Sen. Booker. “Access to the Internet as a free and open platform has the transformative power to promote new content, drive innovation, and fuel our economy. I’m pleased that a federal court has upheld these clear and reasonable rules and I look forward to continuing to promote public policies that promote access, diversity, and economic growth.”

The FCC’s net neutrality rules went into effect June 12, 2015. Over the last several years, Sen. Booker has been a vocal advocate for net neutrality protections.
