WASHINGTON – U.S. Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ) today released the following statement regarding President Barack Obama’s Fiscal Year 2016 budget proposal:
“President Obama sent Congress a forward-looking budget that builds on the economic recovery we're seeing by focusing on boosting paychecks for middle class families and preparing workers for a 21st century economy. While New Jersey's economy is moving in the right direction, we need investments in infrastructure, transportation, technology, and education to drive greater job growth and meet the challenges of a competitive global economy. This budget is a pledge to educate our nation’s kids, starting in preschool, and to support working families with sensible tax breaks. It is also a commitment to repairing our nation's roads, bridges, and highways. Much of this blueprint should transcend party affiliation, and I'm looking forward to working with my colleagues to advance these priorities.”
