WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ) issued the following statement on the Congressional Budget Office’s report released today outlining the projected impacts of a repeal of the Affordable Care Act:

“Today, the non-partisan Congressional Budget Office gave the American people 32 million reasons why Republicans should abandon their dangerous efforts to repeal the Affordable Care Act.  This report from the CBO— Congress' independent office of economists and budget analysts—is the latest grave warning about what’s at stake in a repeal of the ACA: 18 million Americans losing their insurance within a year, an increase on premiums of up to 25 percent, and within a decade, 32 million fewer insured Americans.  It’s time for President-elect Trump and Republicans in Congress to stop their efforts to repeal the ACA and it's life-saving protections and start working with Democrats to strengthen and improve upon the existing law.”
