Newark, NJ – As part of his ongoing commitment to serving the people of the Garden State, today U.S. Senator Cory Booker (D-NJ) announced that he will launch a tour of New Jersey’s 21 counties to highlight the priorities he continues to fight for in the U.S. Senate on behalf of families across the state.

*Public schedule included below

Sen. Booker’s 2016 Jersey Summer Road Trip, which begins on August 3rd and concludes on August 10th, will focus on his efforts to stand up for New Jersey’s veterans, protect the long-term growth and viability of New Jersey’s military bases, reform our nation’s broken criminal justice system, boost investments in technology and innovation, strengthen local businesses and create jobs, and ensure our coastline is more resilient following Hurricane Sandy’s devastation.

“I’m hitting the road for the next two weeks, crisscrossing New Jersey to hear directly from as many New Jerseyans as possible about what matters most to them,” said Sen. Booker.  “Listening to New Jerseyans about their concerns, their ideas, and their priorities is so important for me to serve our state effectively. I’ll take the feedback I get from my summer road trip straight to the Senate as I continue fighting for real solutions to the biggest challenges facing our state and our country.”

Highlights of Sen. Booker’s Jersey Summer Road Trip include:

Ensuring New Jersey veterans have access to the resources they need: In Sussex County tomorrow, Sen. Booker will host a roundtable discussion at Sussex County Community College with New Jersey veterans alongside the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and the New Jersey Health Care System to discuss access to health care, veterans’ education, affordable housing, and employment opportunities

Booker will also visit Fairton Correctional Institution in Cumberland County to tour the facility and meet with federal inmates.
