CHATSWORTH, N.J. - U.S. Sen. Cory Booker, D-N.J., visited the Pine Island Cranberry Farm on Thursday, meeting with Bill Haines Jr. , a fourth generation cranberry farmer whose family has been farming the land since the late 1800s.

“I am so proud of our state’s cranberry industry and the role we play in the production of cranberries nationwide,” said Sen. Booker. “It is truly an honor to represent cranberry farmer Bill Haines and I am committed to advocating for him and the interests of all of New Jersey’s farmers.”

New Jersey is ranked third in the nation for total cranberry production, making it a $30 million dollar industry in the state.
