Washington, DC – U.S. Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ) issued the following statement regarding media reports indicating that FEMA Deputy Associate Administrator for Insurance Brad Kieserman is leaving the agency effective June 13:
“I wish Brad Kieserman was able to stay at FEMA through the conclusion of the Superstorm Sandy claims review process that began just days ago. I am appreciative of his service to the people of New Jersey and our country.
“Whoever succeeds Mr. Kieserman at FEMA should understand that Sen. Menendez and I will continue holding their feet to the fire to demand accountability on behalf of New Jerseyans affected by Sandy. We will keep working to ensure that every Sandy survivor gets every bit of help they deserve and should have received. And we expect the next head of insurance at FEMA to be a willing partner in this effort.”
