Washington, D.C. – Today, U.S. Senators Cory Booker (D-N.J.), Michael Bennet (D-Colo.), and Sherrod Brown (D-Ohio), alongside U.S. Representatives Rosa DeLauro (D-Conn.), Suzan DelBene (D-Wash.), and Ritchie Torres (D-N.Y.), released the following statement after reports that Republicans proposed reversing the Child Tax Credit expansion to pay for their infrastructure proposal:

“The expansion of the Child Tax Credit will provide a significant lifeline to the middle class and cut child poverty nearly in half. It is absolutely outrageous that our Republican colleagues have proposed raising taxes on American families – and doubling child poverty – by clawing back the CTC expansion to pay for an infrastructure bill.”
