WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, U.S. Senator Cory Booker, a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, praised the Senate confirmation of Edward Kiel to serve on the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey.
“I’m thrilled to see the confirmation of Judge Edward Kiel, a highly qualified jurist who has dedicated his career to justice and the law,” said Senator Booker. “I’m confident he will serve the people of New Jersey and our country with fairness and integrity. His is an extraordinary American story: he will serve as a federal judge in the same courthouse where his parents were naturalized as American citizens. Judge Kiel’s confirmation brings us closer to ensuring our judiciary reflects the rich tapestry of experiences of all Americans.”
Judge Edward S. Kiel has been a United States Magistrate Judge for the District of New Jersey since 2019. Previously, Judge Kiel was a partner at Cole Schotz, P.C. from 2002 to 2019.
