WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Sen. Cory Booker (D-N.J.) today announced that Tom Pietrykoski will join his office as New Jersey Press Secretary, effective October 26. Pietrykoski, who will be based in Booker’s Newark state office, joins Communications Director Jeff Giertz and Press Secretary Monique Waters on Booker’s press team.
“Tom knows New Jersey deeply and is passionate about serving the people of our state,” Booker said. “His skills and experience make him a great addition to our team in Newark. I look forward to working with him to stand up for New Jersey.”
A New Jersey native, Pietrykoski currently serves as Communications Director for Rep. Bill Pascrell, Jr. (D-N.J.). During his tenure with Pascrell, Pietrykoski helped shape the communications strategy surrounding the Congressman’s efforts in securing federal aid following Hurricane Sandy, implementation of the Affordable Care Act in northern New Jersey, and fighting for federal investments in the nation’s aging infrastructure.
Prior to joining Pascrell’s staff, Pietrykoski served as the Director of Public Affairs for the Passaic Valley Sewerage Commission where he implemented a strategic communications plan to help advance the agency’s environmental policies. Pietrykoski is a graduate of Montclair State University.
