NEWARK, NJ – U.S. Sen. Cory Booker (D-N.J.) will join veterans and their families at Bancroft Plainsboro Treatment Center in Plainsboro, New Jersey, on Friday, July 25 at 4 p.m. He will discuss his legislation introduced with Sen. Dean Heller (R-NV) to authorize the continuation of the Assisted Living Program for Veterans with Traumatic Brain Injuries (AL-TBI), a bipartisan legislation that authorizes the continuation of an existing Veteran Affairs program which provides intensive care and rehabilitation to veterans with severe brain injuries.
Without Congressional action on the Booker-Heller bill this program will expire in October. Sen. Booker will take part in a tour of the treatment center, meet personally with veterans served at Bancroft through the Assisted Living Pilot Program, and discuss the introduction of this legislation.
