Washington, DC – U.S. Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ) issued the following statement:
“The Trump administration is working relentlessly to sabotage the Affordable Care Act and undermine its protections for all Americans. Rolling back the requirement that birth control must be provided by insurance companies at no cost to women is the latest shameful example, and represents a pointed attack on the health and rights of women.
“Family planning decisions are the business of a woman and her doctor, period. Allowing employers to exempt themselves from the ACA’s birth control requirement puts them in the middle of these personal medical decisions and burdens women with additional costs.
“I will continue to stand against the Trump administration’s wrongheaded efforts and work to protect access to birth control and the Affordable Care Act.”
