Impeachment

This is a sad and sobering time for our country. Throughout the course of our history, only two American presidents have been impeached—and Donald Trump is the third. As the impeachment trial begins in the Senate, all Senators will take an oath to “do impartial justice,” and Americans deserve a fair and thorough review of the evidence.

Knowing that New Jerseyans have—and will have—many questions, here is a one-stop shop for constituents containing as much information as possible related to the impeachment process. This page includes my personal thoughts on this somber moment, background information and evidence about what occurred, and primary documents related to what the Founders intended when they included the impeachment clause in our Constitution.
